Fumigation is a method of pest control with gaseous pesticides or fumigants to suffocate or poison the pest. In libraries and archives, it is used to control pests in books, pechas and woodblocks. Books, pechas and xylographic woodblocks affected by insects are treated in a fumigation machine to prevent or arrest damage from insects and other pests.
